Fleeting Moment
Moment was a late bloomer, as have been most of his siblings. However, once he found his stride, it was hard to stop him! He won races left and right all over the country. He finished fourth after a very troubled trip in his second attempt to capture the Breeder's Cup Turf. A bump during the race caused him to strain a muscle, and we decided to retire him instead of racing him again. He is now used to pony horses and pace them at Whitebrook.
Rascal
Born and bred at Whitebrook Farm, Rascal was one of the first horses Kevin McLean, the son of Whitebrook head trainer Ian McLean, worked with. Although he has never been a big star, Rascal has still had much success on the racetrack. As a three-year-old he was on the Derby trail until it became obvious the competition and stress was not for him. Currently he is back at Whitebrook Farm and in training as he recuperates for the summer and fall races.
Pride's Heart
Born and bred at Whitebrook Farm, Pride's Heart is one of our most experienced horses in training. She began slowly at two, and spent most of her three-year-old season running in ungraded stakes races at Calder. Pride's Heart blossomed at four, with a win in her first graded race, the Honey Fox Handicap at Gulfstream, and has won three other graded stakes since then, including the Grade II Falls City Handicap at Churchill Downs. She specializes in both turf and dirt races between a mile and a sixteenth to a mile and an eighth. This year Pride's Heart is still in training as a six-year-old.
Warlord
Of the same family as Kentucky Derby winner War Emblem, Warlord started out his career with aspirations of following in his relative's footsteps. However, Warlord showed that he is similar to his famous cousin in more ways than one. As a yearling and two-year-old, Warlord was almost impossible to train, and the colt traded hands twice before he landed at Whitebrook Farm at the start of his three-year-old season. He is extremely lightly raced, with only one maiden attempt that ended poorly. Whitebrook did attempt to race Warlord during the spring, but before the race the colt spooked at the gate and injured himself, forcing a scratch. Warlord is very aggressive in his work outs, and very determined to have things done his way, although since arriving at Whitebrook Farm he has begun to mellow. We hope to return him to races in time for the winter meets.
Perfect Pitch
Born and bred at Whitebrook Farm, Perfect Pitch is set to hopefully become one of our two-year-old stars. By Jazzman, the same legendary sire of Wonder's Star, Perfect Pitch has yet to race, although she has just recently been moved to Saratoga Racecourse to train.
Charisma
Born and bred at Whitebrook Farm, Charisma is one of the most promising two-year-old fillies the farm has seen to date. By Wonder's Pride, champion racer and sire, Charisma decisively won her first start in June and is preparing for what we hope to be a successful run to the Breeders' Cup.
Wonder's Star
Star is the last foal of the legendary Ashleigh's Wonder. He's had a rough trip for the first two years, but now he seems to be settling into his own stride. He is jockeyed, groomed, and exercise ridden almost exclusively by Mike and Ashleigh's daughter, Christina Reese, who is also Star's half owner. We are looking forward to a long and successful career with Star, and though it might be a little too early to say this, we're pointing him toward the Triple Crown, Breeder's Cup, and Dubai World Cup. Hopefully he'll follow in his sibling's footsteps and become the stakes winner we know he has the potential to be. With several large wins already under his belt, it seems that Star is living up to his family's legacy already.
Hi Jinx
With his bloodlines tracing back to Seabiscuit, Hi Jinx has an unusual predigree. Hi Jinx was recently purchased by Jazz Taylor when Flag is Up Farm, where the colt was training, had a dispersal sale due to bankruptcy. Hi Jinx had only raced twice when Jazz invested, and had never won. This was due in part to that fact that Jinx has a rather...strong personality, which makes him difficult to handle. Upon arrival at Whitebrook, he caused so much destruction he had to be moved to the stallion barn, and Jazz was almost forced to sell him. However, his trainer, Melanie Graham, persisted with the colt, and was recently rewarded with a win the prestigious Kentucky Cup Stakes.
