"Sure. Can you grab the two in the back seat?" She started in the cottage and started up the stares. She set the box on the floor of the empty room. "This is a small room." She said to herself yet half to justin.

"Of course," he said, grabbing the boxes, and doing his best not to show any pain. When he reached the cottage, he set them on the floor. "It's not that small a room. Besides, if you arrange things just right, it could look rather big...," he replied when she came in.

"True. But it's not the same as-" she stopped and looked away. She felt the fire burning her face. "Nothing."

"Not the same as my old house with my mom." she said more sadly. she walked down the stairs and grabbed another box.

"Oh. I'm sorry. What happened to her? My own parents were killed when I was ten," he told her. He followed her, grabbing a few more boxes.

"Well she fell of a horse in a race and was trampled by the other horses in the field." She winced at the memory of watching the horse rear up and her mom fall on the ground. Then the horses dash on her like she was dirt. A shiver went down her spine and she brushed it aside. "How did your parents die?"

"They were brutally murdered in front of me," he said plainly. "Of course, I was hiding in the closet, so he didn't see me. I called the cops after he left." He put the boxes down in her room. "Do you need any other help?"

"I've accepted that they're dead and it's not my fault they are. I've accepted how it happened, and what cause their deaths. And the man who murdered them is on Death Row, as he was a serial killer. But it's not like I don't miss them. Though I have a new mom. She's been my mom longer than my biological one, so I feel a stronger connection with her," he said. "And I do my best not to think about it." He sighed, and sat gently on a box, staring at his toes.

"Oh," She also looked down. She grabbed the box tighter and walked back up the stairs. She set it down on the other one and sat down on those.

He pulled out a locket hidden beneath his shirt. "This is all I have left of them," he said, taking it off and opening it. Inside was a picture of a beautiful, motherly-looking woman, kissing a handsome man on the cheek. You could only assume they were his parents. Justin handed the locket to her so she could get a closer look at it.

She looked at the box she was sitting on and opened it. She took out a small picture in a glass frame. "This is the only picture I have left of her. She rarely let anyone take pictures of her." She handed over a wedding photo of her and her father standing in the door way of an appartment with her mother in Ian's arms. She looked at Justin's photo. "She pretty."

"Your mom was too. Why do all the good people die? But, if my parents hadn't died, I'd never have met Sally, or Emily, or you. So in a way, it's sort of a good thing...," he said, though still with low spirits.
